subway sketching

The bad weather's rolling in and, for me, that means spending less time riding my bike on the city's streets and more time riding the trains underneath. On the positive side that gives me the opportunity to get a little life drawing in and sketch New Yorkers in their natural habitat (and thanks to the unspoken rules against eye contact, usually unnoticed). So, in anticipation of a long winter, here are a few of my favorite subway portraits from earlier commutes.
